Here’s my completely subjective review of Earth & Eden diapers. These are very soft and trim diapers. They look to be "wide" and may fit bigger babies well. One Mom in our Facebook community who tried these diapers said:

"they're quite absorbent, and very high quality for a 'green diaper'. I also love the fact that it has a wetness indicator. I've noticed that with green diapers, it's hard to mask the smell of urine. I didn't see that issue with this brand. In fact, they kind of reminded me of the Pampers Pure diapers...with better quality flaps." -Vee S.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Pampers Pure Protection

By Julie Siewert

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Pampers Pure Protection

The newest diaper in the Pampers lineup is called Pure Protection. The Pampers answer to eco-friendly diapers. Is this greenwashing, or is this the newest eco-friendly diaper on the market? Here is the available information about the NEW Pampers Pure Protection diapers.

*Disclaimer: This post is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Pampers® brand. I’m just a mama who knows how to use her keyboard to find information. Any mistakes or inaccuracies in this post are my own, and I will gladly correct them with the right information, once I know about it. To find further information about Pampers diapers, visit their website at www.pampers.com.

The Pure Protection line was introduced around February/March 2018 and includes sizes Newborn through size 5. Pampers Pure Protection contain NO chlorine bleaching, NO fragrances, NO parabens and NO latex. They include the use of “premium” cotton and are hypoallergenic.

Here’s my completely subjective review of the Pampers Pure Protection. These are nice and soft diapers. The outside cover of the diaper is noticeably softer than other versions of Pampers. It is still trim like Pampers diapers all are. I love the cute new prints!

I'll be dating myself here, but remember Huggies Pure and Natural diapers? These feel similar to me. Same soft idea, made with cotton.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series Pampers Pure Protection Pinterest

These sound A LOT like all the other Pampers!

If you’ve been following our Diaper Brand Spotlight Series, or you’ve checked out our Diaper Brand Research page, all the advertising about the Pampers Pure Protection diapers might sound familiar to you. It should. Pampers diapers were already Chlorine-free, latex-free and paraben-free. Pampers Pure Protection is still made in the USA, just like the rest of the Pampers.

How are these different from all the OTHER Pampers?

They took out the fragrance (this makes me smile, because Pampers are one of the heaviest-scented diapers around, next to Luvs). Pure Protection diapers boast that they are made without the “EU 26 Allergens” which are just the chemical names for…fragrance. The Pure Protection includes 15% cotton in the outer cover. These diapers are hypoallergenic.

Are these REALLY eco-friendly diapers?

That is going to depend on your definition. There are many brands of “eco-friendly” diapers out there now. Your “premium” brands of diapers would be Eco by Naty, Bambo Nature, Aleva Naturals and Earth’s Best. These are really good eco-friendly diapers that contain less of the bad stuff. Next tier are the eco-friendly diapers that are more commonly available, like Seventh Generation and Babyganics. These are more of a mainstream diaper, but are a little more earth-friendly than a traditional diaper. Pampers Pure Protection might fit into that category, or they might fall just short.

Truly, these are Pampers diapers, but made from some slightly more eco-friendly materials. If you are using Pampers already, but want a more eco-friendly diaper, this is it. It should work like the Pampers that you know and love, but a little lighter on the nasty chemicals.

But how do they work?

If you check the reviews on Amazon, they look good so far. This is a new diaper, so the reviews are just starting to roll in.

But you won't know how they work for YOUR baby until you give them a try!

When you only need a few diapers in each size: The Caregiver's Choice Diaper Sampler Pack

By Julie Siewert

When you only need a few diapers in each size: The Caregiver's Choice Diaper Sampler Pack
What do you do when you just need a few diapers as a backup, to “cover your behind” so to speak?

The Caregiver’s Choice Diaper Sampler package contains 6 diapers in all of the sizes from newborn through size 5. That’s 36 diapers total. This is perfect for the in-home daycare, church nursery and foster parents. This is also a convenient pack to use for parents to have in the car or in your disaster preparedness kit.

The idea for creating a package like this came from a foster parent. I’ve been contacted a few times by various people asking for a package that has various size diapers, and most were foster parents. Foster parents often receive emergency placements in the middle of the night (because that’s when the “emergencies” often happen), and many times the kids will come with just the clothes (and diaper) on their little bodies. Foster parents are expected to provide diapers for the kids in their care, but aren’t paid enough to keep a box of diapers on hand in each size-that could be more than $100! A small package with a few diapers in each size would get these foster parents through the day, until they could go to the store and pick up more diapers. A little preparedness goes a long way when you’re dealing with the unpredictability of the fostercare system.

We all know we’re supposed to keep our kids’ diapers in our disaster prep kit, but who actually makes sure the current size diaper is stocked and ready to go? Probably the same people that have food and water packed and actually rotate it. ;) For me, one small box of diapers that has each size will have the right size for my little one, with minimal effort from me. And it’s got enough diapers to (probably) get us through the day.

Do you keep a “car diaper kit”? This is a great idea, to keep a box of diapers in various sizes in the car along with wipes and some random sized clothing. Just in case. For a family that is on the go a lot, this would be a lifesaver! I know I’ve been caught out without the diaper bag (or, gasp, the diaper bag contains no diapers!) and was digging through the back hoping to find just one diaper. And having each size diaper in a package means I think of it once (when I’m putting it in the car), and then not again until I have to use it. And the diapers will be there when you need it, like magic!

If you work at a daycare, run one in your home or volunteer at your church nursery, you know that parents are supposed to provide diapers for their own kids. But, much like real life, accidents happen. Parents forget, you forget, or a little someone gets sick and unexpectedly goes through a bunch more diapers than anyone was expecting. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a little safety net? Just a few extra diapers tucked away for those extreme “OMG we have no diapers!” times. A package like this beats having to run to the store with a child wrapped in a t-shirt diaper.

With this Caregivers Choice diaper sampler package, you will receive 6 diapers in each size (total of 36 diapers); comprised of one 3-pack of each of the following diapers and sizes:
Newborn size Huggies Little Snugglers™
Newborn size Pampers Swaddlers™
Size 1 Huggies Little Snugglers™
Size 1 Pampers Swaddlers™
Size 2 Huggies Snug & Dry™
Size 2 Pampers Baby Dry™
Size 3 Huggies Little Movers™
Size 3 Pampers Cruisers™
Size 4 Huggies Little Movers™
Size 4 Pampers Cruisers™
Size 5 Huggies Little Movers™
Size 5 Pampers Cruisers™
For all the ideal uses that I’ve thought of, I bet there’s more. Where would YOU use a sampler package with all of the diaper sizes?

Aleva Naturals - Parents have even more choices when it comes to sampling eco-friendly diapers

By Julie Siewert

Aleva Naturals - Parents have even more choices when it comes to sampling eco-friendly diapers! via @diaperdabbler
Welcome to the Diaper Dabbler family, Aleva Naturals!

There’s a new diaper brand in town. Well, they’re not new. In fact, they’ve been proudly making these diapers in Canada for quite some time now, but just made a splash into the US market within the last year or so. Diaper Dabbler is proudly partnering with Aleva Naturals to get their great bamboo diaper samples out to new parents everywhere. Parents can try these fabulous diapers right alongside other eco-friendly diapers and find out which one is the best for THEIR little one.
Aleva Naturals Bamboo baby diapers are a premium eco-friendly diaper. They are hypoallergenic, biodegradable, and chlorine free, dye free and latex free.
Aleva Naturals diaper samples are now available in Diaper Dabbler variety packs! via @diaperdabbler
From their website:
“Traditional diapers are bleached with harsh chemicals, and the residue from these bleaching agents may be one of the many causes of skin irritations and rashes. Bamboo has an anti-bacterial agent called Bamboo-Kun, and therefore does not require bleaching. For this reason, Bamboo Baby Diapers will give moms the peace of mind that they are providing the best for their baby’s precious skin.
Bamboo Baby Diapers are ultra-soft with a cloth-like feel to provide the maximum comfort for your baby. These disposable diapers are extra-strong with flexible side panels, a breathable back layer and a pocketed back waistband to ensure a snug and comfy fit for your baby. For extra leakage protection, our double sided leak guards are snug around the legs, while the 3 line wetness indicator changes colour to alert parents it is time to change their baby’s diaper. Aleva Naturals® Bamboo Baby™ Diapers are the comfortable, affordable and eco-friendly choice!”
I’ve had a chance to touch and play with their diapers, and they are noticeably softer than the traditional diapers on the market. If you normally use bamboo diapers, you know what I’m talking about. Bamboo diapers are just a whole new category of softness and comfort. They define “premium eco-friendly diaper”.

These diapers are sized a bit different than “traditional” US sizes. Here’s the breakdown. Aleva Natural’s size nb-1 fits babies 4-9 pounds. That would fall into a “traditional” Newborn size (by US sizing). But you’ve got to see these diapers. They look exactly like a size 1 diaper, size-wise. Diaper Dabbler is pairing them in our size 1 sampler packs because these diapers are going to fit just like it says on the package-both Newborn and size 1 babies. Their size 3 diapers fit just like a “traditional” size 3. They baby weight is a tiny bit different (13-24 lbs.), but it fits just right.

Aleva Naturals diapers can be purchased through their website, and on Amazon and Diapers.com. Price-wise, they are comparable to other premium eco-friendly diapers.

Aleva Naturals diapers are now available as 3-pack samples through Diaper Dabbler. They are packaged with other eco-friendly diapers in the Mother Earth (size 1 and size 3), Mega Mom and Prepared Parent variety packages. Their sample packs are also available singly as a custom add-on in size 1 and size 3. Now it’s even simpler to try all your favorite diapers and compare them side by side. Other environmentally friendly diaper samples currently available include Babyganics, Bambamboos, Bambo, Earth’s Best, Naty and Seventh Generation.
