Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Abby & Finn

Continuing our Diaper Brand Spotlight series, today we’re focusing on Abby&Finn diapers. What's in them, what isn't in them, where they're made and what I like about them.

With gazillions of different diaper brands out there, it’s hard to know which ones to buy for your baby. By doing your research and comparing the brands, you can narrow down the list of diapers you’d like to try. Here we’ve gathered all the information about Abby&Finn diapers in one convenient post for you.

*Disclaimer: This post is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Abby&Finn™. I’m just a mama who knows how to use her keyboard to find information. Any mistakes or inaccuracies in this post are my own, and I will gladly correct them with the right information, once I know about it. The basics about Abby&Finn diapers

Abby & Finn offers a Diaper Subscription service, they are not available in stores. You order their monthly package from their website, and they send it right to you with free shipping. They offer both diapers and wipes.

Abby&Finn is a huge supporter of families in need. For every monthly diaper subscription sold, they donate a diaper a day to families in need (that’s 30 diapers donated per monthly subscription).

Abby&Finn diapers are NOW available in Diaper Dabbler Sampler Packages.

My review of Abby&Finn diapers

Here’s my completely subjective review of Abby&Finn diapers. These diapers feel ‘sturdy’ like some other eco-friendly brands. I wouldn’t call them ‘fluffy’ like Huggies diapers, but more ‘sturdy’ like Earth’s Best diapers. They are quite trim.

Their prints are very cute, I can see why so many people compare these to Honest Company diapers.

Abby&Finn diapers run a little small. You’ll notice their size 2 diapers are about the same size as a mainstream brand’s size 1 diaper (this is why Diaper Dabbler is carrying Abby&Finn’s size 2 diapers in their standard size 1 Samplers). Their Size 3 diapers are pretty close to a standard size 3 diaper.

Never fear, you can see their size chart below to find the right size diaper for your baby.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Earth & Eden

The newest eco-friendly diaper available on Amazon is called Earth & Eden. Many Moms are wondering how eco-friendly is this new diaper, and is it worth trying it out? Continuing our Diaper Brand Spotlight Series, we’re focusing on the NEW Earth & Eden diapers.

Earth & Eden diapers were introduced around July/August/September 2018 and includes sizes Newborn through size 7. Earth & Eden diapers contain NO lotions, NO fragrances, NO parabens, NO chlorine bleaching and NO latex. They include the use of “premium” cotton and are hypoallergenic. Earth & Eden diapers do contain sustainably-sourced wood fluff pulp. They are not tested on animals, and printed with non-toxic water-based inks.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Earth & Eden

Here’s my completely subjective review of Earth & Eden diapers. These are very soft and trim diapers. They look to be "wide" and may fit bigger babies well. One Mom in our Facebook community who tried these diapers said:

"they're quite absorbent, and very high quality for a 'green diaper'. I also love the fact that it has a wetness indicator. I've noticed that with green diapers, it's hard to mask the smell of urine. I didn't see that issue with this brand. In fact, they kind of reminded me of the Pampers Pure diapers...with better quality flaps." -Vee S.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Aleva Naturals

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Aleva Naturals

With gazillions of different diaper brands out there, it’s hard to know which ones to buy for your baby. By doing your research and comparing the brands, you can narrow down the list of diapers you’d like to try.

Continuing our Diaper Brand Spotlight Series, here we’ve compiled the available information about Aleva Naturals diapers in one convenient post for you.

*Disclaimer: This post is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Aleva Naturals™. I’m just a mama who knows how to use her keyboard to find information. Any mistakes or inaccuracies in this post are my own, and I will gladly correct them with the right information, once I know about it. To find further information about Aleva Naturals diapers, visit their website at www.alevanaturals.com.

Let’s start with my completely subjective opinion of Aleva Naturals diapers. These are THE SOFTEST diapers ever! I know bamboo is soft, but this is the softest diaper I have ever felt. If I had to wear diapers, I’d be looking at these. These are one of the more expensive diapers on the market. Aleva Naturals diapers run bigger than some of the standard diapers, I’m not sure their smallest size would fit on most newborn babies. I believe these diapers are fragrance-free, but I cannot find any information online about this. They don’t smell strongly, like so many other diapers.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Aleva Naturals

The basics:

Aleva Naturals diapers are a premium eco-friendly diaper. They are available on Amazon or through the Aleva Naturals website.

Aleva Naturals diapers are made in China (where bamboo is grown).

Aleva Naturals diapers are Certified Vegan and Animal Cruelty-free.

They are biodegradable and hypoallergenic.

Aleva Naturals diapers are made with unbleached bamboo. Bamboo has a natural anti-bacterial property called Bamboo-Kuhn, so bleaching the bamboo is not necessary. Because of this, their diapers are chlorine-free.

Aleva Naturals diapers do have a wetness indicator.

Aleva Naturals diaper baby model

The sizing for Aleva Naturals diapers does vary slightly from “standard” US diaper sizing, but only by a few pounds. Always look at how the diaper fits when deciding what size to use.

NB-1 4-9 lbs.
Size 2 6-17 lbs.
Size 3 13-24 lbs.

Aleva Naturals diapers are only available up to size 3.

Aleva Naturals also makes a full line of baby and maternal skincare products. They also make fantastic biodegradable bamboo baby wipes.

Mother Earth Diaper Sampler Package size 1

But how do they work?

If you check the reviews on Amazon, they look good overall. But you won’t know how these will work on YOUR baby until you try them!

Custom Diaper Sampler Package size 3

Diaper Dabbler carries sample-size packages of Aleva Naturals diapers in size 3. Try a sample for yourself, and get a few other brands to compare side-by-side. What do you like best?

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Parent's Choice

By Julie Siewert

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Parent's Choice

With gazillions of different diaper brands out there, it’s hard to know which ones to buy for your baby. By doing your research and comparing the brands, you can narrow down the list of diapers you’d like to try. Here we’ve compiled the available information about Parent’s Choice diapers in one convenient post for you.

Here is everything you ever wanted to know about Walmart’s Parent’s Choice diapers.

*Disclaimer: This post is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Walmart™ or Parent’s Choice™. I’m just a mama who knows how to use her keyboard to find information. Any mistakes or inaccuracies in this post are my own, and I will gladly correct them with the right information, once I know about it. To find further information about Parent’s Choice diapers, visit their website at www.walmart.com.

Let’s start with my completely subjective thoughts about Parent’s Choice diapers. These diapers are trim. I have heard others complain that Parent’s Choice diapers are scratchy. I think that was a previous version of this brand (they have had many updates through the years), as these don’t feel scratchy to me. The current version is a white diaper with a printed design at the front waist area.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Parent's Choice

Here’s the basics:

Parent’s Choice diapers are an economical choice, with their regular prices currently running $.11-$.23 per diaper.

Parent’s Choice diapers are made in the USA with 75% or more US materials. While many other brands are made in the USA, this is the first brand (that I have noticed) that has shared information about where the materials are sourced from.

Parent’s Choice diapers are sold in Walmart stores and online.

What isn’t in a Parent’s Choice diaper?

Parent’s Choice diapers are perfume free and latex free. They are also hypoallergenic.

Parent’s Choice sizing:

Newborn size

Less than 10 lbs.

Size 1

8-14 lbs.

Size 2

12-18 lbs.

Size 3

16-28 lbs.

Size 4

22-37 lbs.

Size 5

27+ lbs.

Size 6

35+ lbs.

Size 7

41+ lbs.

2T/3T

Up to 34 lbs.

3T/4T

32-40 lbs.

4T/5T

38+ lbs.

S/M

38-65 lbs.

L/XL

60-125 lbs.

Parent’s Choice also makes Overnight diapers (sizes 3-6), Training Pants (sizes 2T/3T, 3T/4T, and 4T/5T) and Youth Bedtime (or Nighttime) Underpants (sizes S/M and L/XL).

How they stand out: Parent’s Choice is one of the few brands of diapers available in size 7 (41+ pounds). Most other brands only go up to size 6.

Just for giggles, a common misspelling for Parent’s Choice is Parents Choice.

Try a Diaper Sampler Package to sample and compare diaper brands side-by-side. This Modest Mama Diaper Variety Package includes store-brand and name-brand diapers.

And there you have it. Everything you ever wanted to know about Parent’s Choice diapers.

The reviews look good on these, but you won't know how they work for YOUR baby until you give them a try!

Diaper Dabbler carries 3-pack samples of Parent’s Choice diapers in Newborn and size 1.

Kirkland diapers are made in the USA. They are hypoallergenic and do not contain natural latex.

Kirkland diapers are sold at Costco stores and online.

Kirkland diapers have a “pocketed waistband” similar to what we see in a Huggies diaper. They offer a wetness indicator in sizes 1 and 2.

My unscientific opinion:

These diapers are "fluffy" more like a Huggies diaper than "trim" like a Pampers diaper. They feel substantial, like they will hold a lot.

What is actually in a Mama Bear diaper? What are Mama Bear diapers made of?

Mama Bear diapers are hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and free of elemental chlorine.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Pampers Pure Protection

The newest diaper in the Pampers lineup is called Pure Protection. The Pampers answer to eco-friendly diapers. Is this greenwashing, or is this the newest eco-friendly diaper on the market? Here is the available information about the NEW Pampers Pure Protection diapers.

*Disclaimer: This post is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Pampers® brand. I’m just a mama who knows how to use her keyboard to find information. Any mistakes or inaccuracies in this post are my own, and I will gladly correct them with the right information, once I know about it. The Pure Protection line was introduced around February/March 2018 and includes sizes Newborn through size 5. Pampers Pure Protection contain NO chlorine bleaching, NO fragrances, NO parabens and NO latex. They include the use of “premium” cotton and are hypoallergenic.

Here’s my completely subjective review of the Pampers Pure Protection. These are nice and soft diapers. The outside cover of the diaper is noticeably softer than other versions of Pampers. It is still trim like Pampers diapers all are. I love the cute new prints!

I'll be dating myself here, but remember Huggies Pure and Natural diapers? These feel similar to me. Same soft idea, made with cotton.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series Pampers Pure Protection Pinterest

These sound A LOT like all the other Pampers!

If you’ve been following our Diaper Brand Spotlight Series, or you’ve checked out our Diaper Brand Research page, all the advertising about the Pampers Pure Protection diapers might sound familiar to you. It should. Pampers diapers were already Chlorine-free, latex-free and paraben-free. Pampers Pure Protection is still made in the USA, just like the rest of the Pampers.

How are these different from all the OTHER Pampers?

They took out the fragrance (this makes me smile, because Pampers are one of the heaviest-scented diapers around, next to Luvs). Pure Protection diapers boast that they are made without the “EU 26 Allergens” which are just the chemical names for…fragrance. The Pure Protection includes 15% cotton in the outer cover. These diapers are hypoallergenic.

Are these REALLY eco-friendly diapers?

That is going to depend on your definition. There are many brands of “eco-friendly” diapers out there now. Your “premium” brands of diapers would be Eco by Naty, Bambo Nature, Aleva Naturals and Earth’s Best. These are really good eco-friendly diapers that contain less of the bad stuff. Next tier are the eco-friendly diapers that are more commonly available, like Seventh Generation and Babyganics. These are more of a mainstream diaper, but are a little more earth-friendly than a traditional diaper. Pampers Pure Protection might fit into that category, or they might fall just short.

Truly, these are Pampers diapers, but made from some slightly more eco-friendly materials. If you are using Pampers already, but want a more eco-friendly diaper, this is it. It should work like the Pampers that you know and love, but a little lighter on the nasty chemicals.

But how do they work?

If you check the reviews on Amazon, they look good so far. This is a new diaper, so the reviews are just starting to roll in.

But you won't know how they work for YOUR baby until you give them a try!

Let’s start with my completely subjective thoughts about Walgreens Well Beginnings diapers. These diapers are trim and absorbent, they aren’t too “fluffy”. They also aren’t a very strong-smelling diaper.

Diaper Brand Spotlight Series: Well Beginnings Pinterest

Here’s the basics:

Well Beginnings diapers are an economical choice, with their regular prices currently running between $.14-$.30 per diaper, and sales often making the price less.

Well Beginnings diapers are made in the USA.

Well Beginnings diapers are sold in Walgreens stores and online.

What is actually in a Well Beginnings diaper? What are Well Beginnings diapers made of?

Well Beginnings diapers were recently reformulated and no longer contain aloe or "botanicals". The absorbent core is made of Cellulose (wood pulp fibers) and Sodium Polyacrylate Polymer (a Super Absorbent Polymer or SAP commonly found in diapers).

These diapers do not contain latex, aloe or perfumes.

Sizes newborn, size 1 and size 2 have a wetness indicator.

Well Beginnings also makes Training Pants in sizes 2T/3T and 3T/4T. Training pants are available in a boys package and a girls package. Training pants have designs that fade when wet.
